Job Description

Position Overview:

The Transplant Quality Specialist will support designated Organ Transplant Programs by ensuring regulatory compliance and leading quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of adherence to regulations (OPTN/UNOS, CMS, Joint Commission, Intermacs, ESRD Network)
  • Leading internal investigations and corrective action planning
  • Participating in Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and on-site surveys
  • Conducting chart audits and reporting data via the MOTC dashboard
  • Providing statistical reports and identifying performance improvement opportunities
  • Collaborating with transplant leadership and physicians to draft and revise clinical policies

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish – must be fluent and professional in both verbal and written communication.
  • Professional, clean-cut appearance
  • Proven experience conducting chart audits using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Strong skills in data analysis and statistical reporting
  • Experience reporting transplant data, ideally using clinical dashboards
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and perform well in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with physicians and operational leadership

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with transplant regulations (UNOS/OPTN, CMS, ESRD Network)
  • Experience with healthcare quality improvement initiatives
  • Participation in RCA investigations or survey readiness (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS audits)
  • Policy writing or documentation experience in a clinical/transplant setting
  • Knowledge of healthcare analytics software or dashboards

Required Experience & Education:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in healthcare or a quality-related role
  • High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor’s degree (nursing, health admin, or related) is preferred
  • Clinical or transplant background is beneficial, but not required for this non-clinical temp role.
