Job Title: Payroll Manager

Location: 100% Onsite

Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000 base salary + bonus (total compensation up to $150,000)

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

This role requires strong leadership skills and expertise in construction payroll , including Certified Payroll compliance. The ideal candidate must have experience processing payroll for at least 300 employees and possess advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) . The Payroll Manager will work with Vista software and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations & Compliance

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 300+ employees , ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Oversee Certified Payroll reporting and compliance with prevailing wage laws

• Administer payroll in Vista software and maintain in-house payroll operations

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations

• Process multi-state payroll, including garnishments, deductions, and benefits contributions

• Maintain accurate payroll records and generate reports as needed

Leadership & Process Improvement

• Lead and manage the payroll team, providing training and support

• Implement best practices to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy

• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline payroll-related functions

• Conduct audits and reconciliations to ensure payroll integrity

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of payroll management experience

• Construction industry experience (required)

• Certified Payroll expertise

• Experience processing payroll for 300+ employees

• Proficiency in Vista payroll software (required)

• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)

• Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws, wage compliance, and reporting requirements

• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with union payroll and multi-state payroll processing

• Strong analytical mindset and ability to drive process improvements

• Background in bonus and profit-sharing payroll structures
