Duration: 12+ Months with Possibilities of Extension

Location: 2643, Wirtz Dam Road, Marble Falls, TX 78654

pay rate of $32/hr on W2

Workdays (i.e., Monday-Friday)

Monday- Thursday

Work Hours (i.e., 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

6:00 AM- 4:00 PM

General Overview:

Performs work under direct supervision.

Performs miscellaneous unskilled manual labor duties.

Operates handheld manual and power tools.

· Assists skilled workers in accomplishing daily tasks.

· Perform routine labor tasks, alone or as part of a crew, normally using hand tools or less complex equipment (e.g. shovels, rakes, hoes, pliers, small power mowers, hammer, chain saws, pruners, etc.) to perform tasks such as fence building and repair, gate installations, digging, shoveling, lifting and carrying materials, picking up trash and general cleaning and repair tasks.

· Cleans and maintains equipment and tools in safe operable condition in assigned work area adhering to safety rules. Prepares equipment and materials for daily tasks.

· Operates handheld manual tools and power tools in performing labor assistance duties. Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instruction and to perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Zero or more years of experience in performing manual labor duties.

Driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Knowledge of construction and maintenance concepts and methods

· Knowledge of general cleaning and maintenance methods

· Skill in the use of handheld manual and power tools

· Skill in verbal and written communication

· Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions

Work Environment:

· Work hours are spent in an substation and/or power plant environment

· Work involves exposure to noise

· Work involves exposure to various and sometimes extreme weather conditions

· Works in close proximity to energized high-voltage electrical equipment

· Work involves exposure to natural hazards such as fire ants, snakes, wasps and other stinging insects and other wildlife

· Work involves traveling and lodging out of town

· Work involves call-out

Physical Demands:

· Work involves frequent finger/hand manipulation in using hand tools and operating equipment

· Work involves climbing, crawling, crouching or other non-sitting positions in assistance to skilled craft employees

· Work involves frequent standing and/or walking in performing assistance to skilled craft employees

· Occasionally lifts and carries up to 80 pounds

· Occasionally pushes or pulls up to 80 pounds

· Work involves climbing of ladders in performing assistance to skilled craft employees less than 20% of the time
