Mechanical Technician

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technician (Mechanisms) who will play a key role in the assembly and testing of proto-flight hardware, contributing to the development of advanced aerospace mechanisms. Ideal candidates will bring hands-on expertise and an eagerness to grow into leadership roles as the team scales.

Responsibilities

• Assemble structures using standard aerospace tools (e.g., torque wrenches, drivers).
• Weld structures (MIG and TIG).
• Assemble precision dynamic assemblies, including electric power trains, hinges, linkages, and seals.
• Provide Design for Assembly (DFA) feedback to engineers to enhance production speed and reliability.
• Own purchasing, setup, and operation of testing equipment (e.g., vibration tables, vacuum chambers).
• Conduct inspections of component assemblies with proper documentation.
• Define production standards and processes for efficiency and reliability.
• Maintain a safe working environment for the production team.

• Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in an aerospace production environment.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Exceptional dexterity and comfort using standard hand and power tools.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours/day) and lift heavy objects.
• A strong passion for advancing space exploration and industrialization.

• Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience in an aerospace production environment.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and initiative to advance into team leadership roles.

• Compensation and Benefits Location: Los Angeles – Hawthorne.
• Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year (commensurate with experience), plus an equity package.
