Marketing Assistant – Pet-Loving, People-Savvy & Sales-Oriented

PawsPik Inc., a fast-growing company in the pet products industry, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to join our pack! You'll work closely with our Marketing Manager to execute pawsome campaigns, engage with pet parents online, represent our brand at trade shows, and help us expand into new retail spaces by connecting with local pet stores. This is an on-site role based in Schaumburg, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating and executing marketing campaigns across digital and social media platforms with a pet-friendly twist
• Monitor and engage with our online pet parent community on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
• Provide friendly customer service via email to support pet parents and resolve product questions or issues
• Conduct market research to sniff out trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences
• Help plan, write, and manage email marketing campaigns and newsletters
• Contribute to blogs, promotional materials, and marketing content that aligns with our pet-loving brand
• Support product launches, seasonal promotions, and sales initiatives
• Assist in planning, setting up, and attending trade shows, product demos, and pet-friendly events
• Conduct outreach to local pet stores through email, phone, and occasional visits to introduce products and build relationships
• Maintain organized files, content calendars, marketing databases, and digital assets
• Track and report on campaign performance and engagement metrics

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field—or equivalent experience
• Passion for pets and knowledge of pet products is a big plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a friendly, approachable tone
• Familiarity with social media platforms and marketing tools such as Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Canva, or Google Analytics
• Self-starter with basic sales and prospecting skills; comfortable emailing and calling small business owners
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative (and pet-loving) team
