Sevee & Maher Engineers, Inc. (SME) has a new full-time position for an experienced Laboratory and Field Services Coordinator at our office in Cumberland, Maine.

Position Summary

SME is looking for a detail-oriented individual with experience or extensive knowledge of environmental laboratory analyses and environmental sample collection to join our team of environmental scientists and engineers. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual to join a growing company dedicated to our employees and clients. Experience is critical, but you will have the support of senior engineers, geologists, hydrologists, and scientists who are experts in their fields.

Your Impact

Because there is no “typical” project at SME, the Laboratory and Field Services Coordinator participates in a diverse and dynamic portfolio of projects with SME’s multidisciplinary staff, particularly in the Site Investigation and Remediation, Brownfields, Water Resources, and Solid Waste sectors. Your work will contribute meaningfully to the success of our clients’ projects.

As an SME Laboratory and Field Services Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

• Coordinating environmental sampling programs that involve testing of groundwater, surface water, soil, soil vapor, air, and hazardous building materials;
• Managing environmental data and coordinating QA/QC protocols in SME’s Access Database;
• Communications with environmental laboratories to secure services, pricing, and to troubleshoot data issues;
• Preparing tabular and graphical information to support reporting;
• Preparing reports and written environmental monitoring programs and managing clients; and
• Participating in field data collection events, as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A.S. or B.S. degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Soil Science, or other related field is preferred;
• Lab experience is a plus;
• Experience with Access Databases is a plus;
• Attention to detail;
• Effective communication (oral and written) skills; and
• Ability to work independently.
