About the Job:

A reputable, mid-sized law firm in Michigan is actively seeking a motivated General Practice Associate to join its growing team. This role offers a unique blend of municipal law, litigation, business, real estate, and employment matters . Responsibilities:

• Prosecute municipal code violations (e.g., traffic infractions, zoning issues, misdemeanors).
• Represent municipal clients in civil, criminal, and circuit court proceedings.
• Serve in a general counsel capacity for municipalities managing over $100M in funds.
• Provide legal support in real estate, business transactions, and employment law matters.
• Support liquor licensing and other regulatory issues as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 1+ year(s) of public defender , municipal litigation , or prosecution experience; or 2–3 years of experience in business , real estate , or general litigation .
• Licensed and in good standing with the Michigan State Bar (no exceptions).
• Comfortable and confident in the courtroom.
• Strong interest in a diverse practice, spanning both public and private sector work.
• Collaborative mindset looking toward long-term career growth.

The Firm is Offering:

• Base salary of $75k per year, plus $5K to $10K bonus, and truly uncapped earnings (Ex: an attorney recently earned over $180K on a base of $65K)
• Clear and quick partnership path.
• Target billables of approximately 150 hours/month (~1,800/year).
